VP & Construction Officer
Carlos Serrano is Vice President and Construction Officer at Ytech International.
Serrano, who joined the company in 2009, is responsible for overseeing all construction activities, from conception to development. In addition, he is involved with the procurement of construction documents, bidding, costs savings analysis, buy out, subcontractor selection, securing permits, construction management and client relations. Serrano applies his expertise in the construction industry to ensure all projects are completed on time and under budget.
Previously, he was a member of the Design Team of Skidmore, Owens & Merrill Architects in Houston, Texas, involved in high-rise design for the United Arab Emirates. Locally, he was a project manager with Turner Construction overseeing the construction of the $100 million Miami International Airport South Terminal.
Serrano is a licensed Certified General Contractor in the state of Florida. Throughout his 34 years in the construction industry, Serrano has been responsible for more than $280 million of design/build and construction projects within all sectors of the industry. Since joining Ytech, he has been responsible for the renovation of the residential, office and retail portfolio of approximately 7,000 multifamily units, retail assets totaling more than 200,000 square feet and 500,000 square feet of class A & B office space.
Serrano graduated from Clemson University with a bachelor’s degree in architecture, which included overseas post-graduate studies in Genoa, Italy, and an apprenticeship with Architect Paolo Soleri building the self-contained, waste-free city of Arcosanti in the Arizona desert.
