Founder & CEO
Yamal Yidios is the Founder and CEO of Ytech International.
Under his leadership, Ytech has invested in, developed and redeveloped more than 7,000 apartments over the last decade, an effort involving more than $1 billion in capital. His company currently owns a real estate portfolio valued at more than $400 million, making it one of the largest privately held companies in Miami in terms of aggregate asset value.
Born in Cartagena, Colombia, Yamal learned about real estate investment and development from his family at a young age. His ambition to build his own real estate investment and development firm in the United States can be traced back to his childhood.
When he moved to Miami, he worked for several engineering firms. As a project manager on projects such as Everglades on the Bay, a 49-story residential skyscraper and one of the tallest buildings in South Florida, Yidios gained experience in project management and finance.
Yidios attended Stetson University for two years on a full academic scholarship and played NCAA tennis. He then transferred to the University of Florida and graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and a master’s degree in engineering and real estate development. Yidios was presented the University of Florida Engineering Scholar of the Year award in 2004 from among several thousand engineering students. He was the first Hispanic student to receive this award in the school’s history. By the time he graduated, he already had five years of experience in engineering and real estate development, as he had balanced a full-time academic schedule with working for multinational engineering companies, such as Kimley Horn and Associates, on its major projects, such as The Villages, one of the largest Community Development Districts (CDD) in the country spanning three counties, more than 20,000 acres and consisting of 57,000 homes.
Yidios has a value-oriented, risk-conscious approach to real estate investment and development and focuses his company’s efforts on cash flow, rather than appreciation-driven investments. This institutional philosophy generates robust value while limiting downside risk. His firm stands out in the real estate industry for its uniquely successful track record. Managed by astute professionals with strong business skills, his company has pursued a successful business strategy, driven by the reinvestment of earnings in the company’s growth.
Yidios has several key responsibilities in his role of CEO. First and foremost, he determines the company’s strategic direction. He is also responsible for the pursuit of new development opportunities and acquisitions and providing Ytech the proper resources, including all capital requirements and activities across all business platforms. Yidios is responsible for creating the company’s culture – shared attitudes, goals and values – that ensures Ytech is on a clear path to success. Lastly, Yidios oversees the overall management of the firm and drives the company’s performance by taking an active role in Ytech’s core business functions and maintaining a keen awareness of the real estate industry.

He has implemented several charitable initiatives at Ytech. At an average monthly rent of $1,000, this commitment to the community totals approximately $540,000 annually.
Yidios began his career in Miami with one project a decade ago. Today, Ytech International has grown into one of the largest owners of multifamily properties in South Florida.
